Cinnamon Hot Cocoa

We tried another flavor of the Kroger Private Selection Cocoa Supreme variety of individual hot cocoa mixes last night.  This was the "Chocolate & Cinnamon" flavor.  I got these on sale for 50¢ versus their everyday price of 65¢ currently at my local Kroger.  As with the other flavors the biggest problem is the trans fat, 2g of it per envelop which is one serving.  It also has 150 calories, 1.5g saturated fat, 120mg sodium, less than a gram of fiber, 23g sugars, 3g protein, with 8% calcium nad 2% iron.

It mixed up well, frothing up a bit and stayed fairly well mixed in with the hot water I used.  I also used older mugs we had from relatives that are much smaller and actually hold the 6oz this mix makes.  There in lays a trick to control your portion size -- smaller plates and glasses/mugs make you feel like you are getting more because the serving feels the space up.  With our more modern mugs, 6oz was maybe half the mug and it seemed like we didn't have enough hot chocolate. When it involves trans fat, if you decide to use that at all, you want to control portion sizes.  The cinnamon was clearly there in the scent and taste but it never over powered the chocolate that was a good milk chocolate intensity.

Sisters and Brothers, may you, too, take the time to slowly appreciate what the Divine and human ingenuity have offered you in chocolate.
